What are the opening hours FOR the West Coast Air Show weekend?
Friday 21 March (Human Rights Day): Build-Up Day Event
On Friday the gates will open to the public at 12:00 PM and event close at 20:00 PM
Campers & Glampers – there will be enough food vendors on site. For safety reasons, please note no open fires will be permitted.
Saturday 22 March: Main Air Show Day
On Saturday the gates open at 6:00 AM and the event will close at 18:00 PM.

Can I buy tickets at the gate?
Yes, you can buy tickets at the gate. To avoid paying full price and standing in long queues on the day we encourage you to buy your tickets online. Limited Early Bird tickets are available from October 2024. There will be drive-through ticket stands for your convenience. This is a CASH FREE event. Please come prepared. Yoco machines are available at the gate.

HOT TIP: Have a printout of your tickets at hand or digital proof on your mobile. To avoid frustration at the gate, please have enough cash to buy your tickets if you did not buy them online.
Where is the West Coast Air Show located?
Vredenburg Airport is also known as Saldanha Airport. It is a small airport located in Saldanha Bay, in the Western Cape province of South Africa, and is 5.7 kilometers away from Saldanha Bay City Centre. What items are Prohibited:
The public is prohibited at the airport from bringing alcohol, own food or drinks, umbrellas, picnic baskets, ‘laser lights’, firearms (including air guns), knives or any other items deemed, at the Security’s sole discretion, to be a weapon or an item that could possibly hurt or interfere with the experience of our visitors.
Is there an ATM on site?
ATM service will be available on site. However to avoid long queues at the ATM it will be best to have cash on hand for vendors or pay by card as most vendors will have Yoco machines. Please note that we are moving towards becoming a cash-free event.
What to pack and what not to pack?

- Food: You may not bring your own food or beverages. Please support a variety of local food and beverage vendors at the air show. It is important for us that local small and medium enterprises are fully supported. Please remember to clean up after yourself. There will be enough rubbish bins located across the Air Show site. Please help us to leave this beautiful landscape as we found it.
- Sunscreen & sun protective clothing: YES & YES – the sun can be very harsh so please come dress appropriately and frequently reapply sunscreen. A great sun hat will also be advisable.
- Umbrellas & shade tents/gazebos: Let’s not spoil the view of your fellow spectators! To host a safe event, no beach umbrellas, cabanas, shade tents, and gazebos are allowed due to the high possibility of winds at the Air show site. These items can easily blow onto the runway and interfere with the aircrafts or injure a fellow visitor. Let’s work together to create a safe and fun weekend for all!
- Chairs: Please bring your own chairs. A foldup chair will be most practical. Chairs will be available for hire at the event for R10 per chair, with a refundable deposit of R50 upon returning the chair. First come first serve. CASH ONLY!
Are Pass Outs available?
Your event arm band that you will receive on entry will allow you to move in and out of the air show site.
Are Earmuffs available to purchase?
No there won’t be any earmuffs on sale at the event. Please bring your own.
Where can I park? Is it free?
Yes, onsite parking is FREE! Our onsite car parking this year has ample space to accommodate 1000s of cars. No reason to look for alternative parking this year. The parking site is also well positioned on the air show site itself. No need to cross busy and dangerous roads. If you prefer you will be able to watch the show from the comfort of our own vehicle.
HOT TIP: Wear your walking shoes as the entire air show site will cover a lot of uneven ground! You will be parking on a field that runs parallel with the tarmac at the airport. If you have a choice for transport, choose a bakkie or any other vehicle that does not have a very low clearance.
Can I ride my bike or use my motorised scooter around the air show site ?
Bicycles, scooters, e-scooters, golf carts and items of personal conveyance are not permitted on the air show site.
Wheelchair and motorised scooters that are used by the elderly or persons with a disability or injury are allowed but might in places get stuck in slight sand. This however can easily be avoided and is only visible in a few places.
HOT TIP: if you are accompanying someone with a disability or have a disability, please talk to our car park attendants, and ask them to direct you to closer parking options.

Can I bring my pet to the Airshow?
Best to leave your pets at home. Loud noises and big crowds can frighten pets. Assistance animals that are being used for specific requirements for example guide dogs are allowed onsite. Please contact the organiser directly for permission.
When will the flying program be released?
The organisers are hard at work to create an exciting and exhilarating program for you. Due to the nature of an air show event only a provisional program will be released in 2025. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram for ongoing announcements of acts in the lead up to the event.
What time will the Flying commence on Saturday?
On Saturday the gates will open at 06:00 AM. Fly-ins and Fly-pasts will start from 7:00 am – 9:00 AM. The aerobatic acts will start at 9:00 AM sharp until 15:00 PM. Other acts will follow between 15:00 PM and 18:00 PM
My child wants to attend the Air show. Is there a child ticket?
Children from the age of 5 and under receives FREE admission to the event. Children from the age of 6 to 18 will have to purchase a ticket. Please refer to our website HERE or visit www.weskustickets.co.za for more details.
Can I get a refund?
Once tickets are purchased, we are unable to offer refunds.
Are concession tickets available ?
At the West Coast Air Show, we offer concession tickets for pensioners, including disability support pensioners. Please note that senior cards are not accepted as a concession. We believe in making the event accessible to everyone and providing affordable options for different groups. Please visit our website HERE.
