What to pack and what not to pack?

*For a list of prohibited items please go HERE

  • Food: You may not bring your own food or beverages. Please support a variety of local food and beverage vendors at the air show. It is important for us that local small and medium enterprises are fully supported. Please remember to clean up after yourself. There will be enough rubbish bins located across the Air Show site. Please help us to leave this beautiful landscape as we found it.
  • Sunscreen & sun protective clothing: YES & YES – the sun can be very harsh so please come dress appropriately and frequently reapply sunscreen. A great sun hat will also be advisable.
  • Umbrellas & shade tents/gazebos: Let’s not spoil the view of your fellow spectators! To host a safe event, no beach umbrellas, cabanas, shade tents, and gazebos are allowed due to the high possibility of winds at the Air show site. These items can easily blow onto the runway and interfere with the aircrafts or injure a fellow visitor. Let’s work together to create a safe and fun weekend for all!
  • Chairs: Please bring your own chairs. A foldup chair will be most practical. Chairs will be available for hire at the event for R10 per chair, with a refundable deposit of R50 upon returning the chair. First come first serve. CASH ONLY!

Where can I park? Is it free?

Yes, onsite parking is FREE! Our onsite car parking this year has ample space to accommodate 1000s of cars. No reason to look for alternative parking this year. The parking site is also well positioned on the air show site itself. No need to cross busy and dangerous roads. If you prefer you will be able to watch the show from the comfort of our own vehicle.

HOT TIP:  Wear your walking shoes as the entire air show site will cover a lot of uneven ground! You will be parking on a field that runs parallel with the tarmac at the airport. If you have a choice for transport, choose a bakkie or any other vehicle that does not have a very low clearance.

Bicycles, scooters, e-scooters, golf carts and items of personal conveyance are not permitted on the air show site.

Wheelchair and motorised scooters that are used by the elderly or persons with a disability or injury are allowed but might in places get stuck in slight sand. This however can easily be avoided and is only visible in a few places.

HOT TIP: if you are accompanying someone with a disability or have a disability, please talk to our car park attendants, and ask them to direct you to closer parking options.
